Logan Wood(10) is back in the spotlight again. He was the first angler to enter a fish in the derby back on Feb. 1. Since then he has been hoping for a contender and it looks like he's now in the running. Kids catching a big fish that would beat the OPEN division leader must make a choice....go for the big prizes and enter the fish in the OPEN division with the chance it might get beat, or play it safe and enter in the Kids Division where the competition isn't as intense but the rewards aren't quite as lucrative. In Logan's mind, when he brought in this 4.55 pound Arctic Char, there was no debate....GO FOR THE GOLD! He is now the leader in the OPEN Division Arctic Char category. Let's hope his golden looking char is a premonition of what is to come for him. He has just two more days to "sweat" it out! heheh

REPORT: Drifted the Kasilof with Rick Wood taking my wife and a friend of mine out of Coho Cove at 4:30 am, fishing 'til 10 am Sunday morning. He put us on five fish, four in the net, two were stocked, two were wild, we had a great time. All fish caught on eggs with sardines attached. Rick is a great fisherman, and a great guy, I'd recommend him to anyone!! Opened camp on the Kenai, will be fishing there the rest of the year,
Gee Rick, the first time I went out with you I put a fish in the boat 45 minutes after we started. The second time I went out with you I put a fish in the boat 50 minutes after we started. Guess next time I'll bring some head-phones or a DVD player. Thanks to you and Laurie. It was a lifetime experience.
